Quarterback
Top Projected Owned: Jacoby Brissett, JJ McCarthy, Justin Herbert
My Player Pool: Sam Darnold, JJ McCarthy, Jacoby Brissett, Patrick Mahomes, Brock Purdy
Cheap QBs will continue to be an optimal build for cash games and small-field GPPs.
I want to take a stand on Sam Darnold and Brock Purdy this week – I love the spot for both of them and they’re close enough in price they will come in a good bit lower than the Brissett/JJM tier in ownership.
If spending up, I’ll take Mahomes over both Lamar and Josh Allen today.
Running Back

My Player Pool: Chalk RBs, Woody Marks, James Cook
I’m pretty in line with the chalk at RB this week with Jaylen Warren, Aaron Jones, Rico Dowdle and Josh Jacobs being my preferred plays. Jacobs is my favorite play on the slate correlating with the Packers defense. I do like Woods Marks as well, who is going to be lower-owned than I anticipated earlier on in the week.
Wide Receiver
Top Projected Owned: Ja’Marr Chase, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Wan’Dale Robinson, Michael Wilson, Rashee Rice
My Player Pool: Chalk WRs, Quentin Johnston, Greg Dortch, Drake London, Ladd McConkey, Jakobi Meyers. Puka Nacua
Similar to my thoughts at QB, I’m taking a stand on JSN over everyone else today. We have seen him put up insane stats and per route / target numbers this season without getting pushed in most games. He’s been elite on low volume, if we get him in a game where he actually has to run a ton of routes the ceiling is massive. I think people are scared off Puka a bit so I do like running back a Darnold team with him. I lean JSN over Chase, but Chase will be higher-owned in cash games.
Quentin Johnston is another guy I want to take advantage of – this feels like a great spot for him. JAX defense has been exposed in recent weeks, and they give up a ton of stuff deep down the field which is right in his wheelhouse. I like pairing him with Jakobi Meyers who will be lower owned than Parker Washington.
Tight End
Top Projected Owned: Trey McBride
My Player Pool: McBride, George Kittle, Orande Gadsden, Terrance Ferguson
TE is clear to just play McBride on the majority of teams but I also like 2 TE builds pairing him with Kittle. Terrance Ferguson is a low–owned punt I want to use on my Darnold teams – I was high on him coming out of Oregon and the Seahawks only weakness on defense is against TEs. LA runs multiple TEs, but Ferguson gets the deep looks down the field and he could certainly find the end zone if this game is close.
